988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline

The 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline provides free and confidential emotional support to people in suicidal crisis or emotional distress 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Since its inception, the Lifeline has engaged in a variety of initiatives to improve crisis services and advance suicide prevention.

American Foundation for Suicide Prevention

Established in 1987, the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) is a voluntary health organization that gives those affected by suicide a nationwide community empowered by research, education and advocacy to take action against this leading cause of death. AFSP is dedicated to saving lives and bringing hope to those affected by suicide.

Massachusetts Coalition for Suicide Prevention

The MCSP is a broad-based inclusive alliance of suicide prevention advocates, including public and private agency representatives, policy makers, suicide survivors, mental health and public health consumers and providers and concerned citizens dedicated to working together to reduce the incidence of suicide and self-harm in the Commonwealth.

YNHPH is an inpatient facility specializing in the rapid assessment and treatment of acute and severe psychiatric symptoms, and offers a full spectrum of innovative and advanced treatments.

Zero Suicide Initiative

The Zero Suicide Institute at EDC offers expert consultation and training on how to adopt and sustain the Zero Suicide framework. The Zero Suicide Institute supports health care systems and others to target their patient safety goals, embed evidence-based suicide care practices, meet regulatory requirements, and conduct continuous quality improvement activities to provide safe and effective care for people at risk for suicide.

Suicide Awareness Voices of Education

SAVE is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to prevent suicide through public awareness and education, reduce stigma, and serve as a resource to people affected by suicide. Its prevention and education programs are designed to increase knowledge about depression, suicide, and accessing community resources and to increase understanding and use of intervention skills to help prevent suicide.

In a nutshell… we want the foundation to be for, through and by the kids. We are often hearing: “parents talk to kids, coaches talk to kids, teachers, counselors and experts talk to kids.” In addition to these necessary forms of education for young adults everywhere, we want this foundation to encourage and incorporate KIDS TALKING TO KIDS!

Elyssa’s Mission

Elyssa’s Mission® is a non-profit organization that provides the resources to support at-risk teens and prevent suicide. Elyssa’s Mission funds and implements the evidence-based SOS Signs of Suicide program in Illinois through our partnership with Mindwise Innovations.
